America needs an intervention.

America, what the fuck are you doing? Is this what you really want? You need to sit down and do some serious soul searching, because what we got now isn't working.
America is being driven off a cliff by three things. The first is hard right MAGA preachers who are clearly brainwashing the masses into America's march of far right totalitarianism and Christian nationalist ideals. They're being embraced by people who are actually sitting in Congress right now. Poorly educated dolts who don't read and embrace insane conspiracy theories dictated to them by Facebook like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Paul Gosar. All of which subscribe to insane far right, batshit Q nonsense that has absolutely no basis in reality. Come on, these are people who think that JFK Jr. survived his plane crash and is going to magically descend on Dealy Plaza to out all of Trump's political opponents as Deep State operatives, and you have to be a special breed of batshit crazy to believe that.
The second thing is the gun. Every addict has their vice whether it's alcohol, or sex, or drugs. America's addiction is violence - we love that shit. I'll admit I love it too. Even I'll admit that I actually love and enjoy the occasional John Wick or Rambo. Because we need that kind of escapism in our lives. But it's not reality. Reality is far different. The problem is the guns. When has a good guy with a gun ever stopped a mass shooting situation from happening? Never! And what kind of fucked up world do we live in where 11 year old kids have to testify before Congress about their experience in a mass shooting, before Congress will actually stand up against the NRA and fucking do something? Argh! And the problem too is insane far right politicians who are bought and paid for by the National Rifle Association who will do nothing but stall any chance of passing any sensible gun laws, and in fact are making things worse. You know what? Canada has the same things that we do. They have violent video games and movies, they have schools with multiple exits, and they have trans men and women. You know what Canada doesn't have? The National Rifle Association.
We've had over 200 mass shooting events in this year alone! But there's no solutions to anything because our founding fathers wrote that the second amendment "shall not be infringed". While kids are sitting in classrooms getting murdered, right wing politicians are building bulletproof backpacks and bookcases and building classrooms like fortresses, because they won't stand up for what's right. But with things getting worse, it's time to cut ties with that vice.
The final piece of the puzzle is something that is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. The most obvious thing that needs to be called out for their bullshit that is hardly ever called out on. Fox News. That's right - the home of Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Maria Baritromo, and Jeannie Pirro, is doing far more damage to you than anything you could possibly think of. Fox News is destroying minds, rotting brains, and bending America to what the will of a power hungry Australian billionaire with aspirations of world domination wants. They've convinced people that the only way to govern is to "own the libs".
In the last 25 years, Fox has stolen 3 presidential elections, the Supreme Court, and the states of Florida and Texas from us. It's pitted half the country against the other half and made having a civilized political discussion next to impossible. It's made Nazism and white supremacy fashionable again. It's turned Congress into a do nothing door stop where the only acceptable way of governing is to "own the libs" and to "make liberals cry". Whatever that is.
And they'll keep coming for the rest of the country until we're all under the spell of Murdoch's siren. They deny climate change, they stroke the fears of violence, and preach hate and white nationalist ideals to anyone who will listen. They've also convinced half the country that the most sorry, worthless excuse of anyone who dares to call himself a human being is somehow a great president. A guy who attracts the most violent and out of control lunatics to his cause like some kind of fucked up Batman villain and has them praise him like a god, until he no longer needs them and throws them under the bus. A guy who led his most crazed followers into charging the Capitol looking for members of Congress to murder and even thought sacrificing his own sitting vice president was the solution. They had a direct line to this president and were pulling his strings through his entire term. And they're going to do it again. Florida and Texas are already test markets. You can see what they're doing with Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott right now. Yeah it's time more people start calling for their bullshit, and it's way past time you cut ties with them. Every addict has their enablers and abusers, and it's time for your enablers to go.
But America, this is where you are heading and it's not good. We need to turn this ship around before the terrorists start coming out of the woodwork and could potentially do untold damage that could rattle America the same way Germany in the 1930s happened. But you can stop this before it's too late. It's time to do some serious soul searching before you become a danger to yourself or to others.

But they are everywhere. I live in a dark red county in an otherwise blue state, and it's impossible to find people who aren't under the spell of Fox.
