but I still haven’t heard any news of Mr. and Mrs. Stepien’s bundle of joy! I’ve purchased balloons and a huge teddy bear, and Momentarily we thought we had the joyous news but it turned out to be premature.

I'm guessing you feel that if it was discovered he lied, to get out of appearing in person, that would not be a big deal?

Why would he lie? To try and Fuck things up for the committee that had planned to question him LIVE and in person. Perhaps the committee intended to ask different questions than were asked during the prior interview.

If he did lie, I doubt the committee would do anything. We always go high, while they go low. Works well for us I guess.
