Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe big corporations are beating us down. People won't unify to fight back.
People are rolling over out of fear. It's like they have us all by the economic balls. The gas companies know exactly what they are doing and they are being supported by MBS. It appears that even Israel is asking Biden to sell our national soul.
People are suffering and I understand but I don't have to like it. I just wish we could be more united in our opposition to big money in politics. It is so sad that so many people lost their lives fighting for this experiment in democracy and it is so unappreciated by those have sought refuge on our shores in the past 60 years.
It is crushing to see so many of those who are scorned and demeaned by Trump and his band of insurrectionist MAGAs actually supporting him and his ugly base. Or maybe they are a part of his ugly base???
Depressing how they scorn President Biden and seem to blame him for all that Trump and the Republicans have done and are still doing against our country.

Because they can.

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is Fascismownership of Government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power.
The second truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if its business system does not provide employment and produce and distribute goods in such a way as to sustain an acceptable standard of living.
