About the investigation....Who is in charge of the Justice Department?

....A lot of people don't know,..so I will tell you

His name is ...Joe
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

This is a big deal for the U.S.A.

The fellow in charge has a whole lot of experience, and he will do the correct thing.

Not new, very kind and experienced person, who has a lot of friends that he can
rely upon for help. And he cares deeply about the U.S.A. and its future. In the
end, I am sure he will make the correct decision on this, and many other important
decision. That is all, and that is enough.

Joe may be in charge (according to you), but the Attorney General runs the show. Joe is hands off.

You have a lot of nerve to call him a liar.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/07/biden-introduces-attorney-general-pick-merrick-garland-vows-doj-independence.html

"We need to restore the honor, the integrity, the independence of the DOJ of this nation that has been so badly damaged," Biden said.

"I want to be clear to those who lead this department who you will serve: You won't work for me. You are not the president's or the vice president's lawyer. Your loyalty is not to me," he added. "It's to the law, the Constitution, the people of this nation."

That is clearly saying that the DOJ will not be used as TFG used it anymore, as a personal lawyer and a weapon to be sent after perceived enemies. Not that DOJ no longer fell under the office of the President.

The inference is pretty clearly that Biden could influence the DOJ if he so chose, that it's ultimately his decision to make, and that it's a decision he should make.

The president has made it clear that the DOJ is not an extension of the White House, nor should it be.

that he has no intention of directing the activities of the DoJ.

That is a longstanding tradition, and a basic principle of Biden's approach to the Constitution. You might want to explore the MANY times Senator and then President Joe Biden has made this clear.

It was clear to five out of seven people commenting in this thread so far, and will likely increase.

In fact, I reinforced that to you. You used a quote to imply that somehow DOJ no longer fell under the President... And that is untrue.

between the president and the DoJ is, or at least should be, strictly hands-off. Biden does not and will not interfere with or try to influence the operations of the DoJ.

We saw what could happen under trump and nixon when a potus took direct control over the doj.

But Joe has stated publicly that he would prefer to not have his presidency judged by continuing trials of tfg. So the path wouldn't be clear if he were in direct control.
