Why did the Jan. 6th broadcast schedule change in the eleventh hour?

Okay, rank all the hearings congress is convening these days according to public interest......got it? good. now.

I'm betting the farm that the Jan. 6th public hearings are number 1. No contest. none. Regarding public interest, I've not seen a more anticipated congressional hearing in my life. Perhaps I've had a sheltered climb upon this mortal coil but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone when I express some dread that the schedule for the expose is altered, at the last minute, for, at last count, about 3 flakey reasons (or excuses, take your pick). Is it technical problems, personal scheduling problems or the ever popular "we were always elastic with our schedule, surely you knew that"?

Listen, Democratic congressmen and women. No pressure but, you are mine, and all my friends', only and our go-to saviors. My hope for the nation's future. You are where you are, solely, to do the very best that can be done to make right any and all wrongs. You exist to fulfill the aspirations of the best in our society. You must master all the demons (personal, foreign or domestic) that come to tear our national unity asunder. It is your duty. It is important. You can not disappoint. It's ALL on you. Take all the time you need but when you do, finally, show us your work, do not err. Do not self-inflict wounds which would bleed all over national TeeVee, ensuring a Republican Congress and Senate for 2023.

If it works out and all goes well, I will happily endure all the stoning with heavy rocks of your choice.

The reason is the folks putting the videos together need more time. That's a good thing. Plus, doing it all more slowly spreads the Republican misery out. Look at the stuff that came out yesterday and continues to do so (on Twitter). If we had a hearing today, that material would disappear behind the new material. Don't step on your own messages.

I would love to see no more than one hearing per week. Several days of conjecture about what the next hearing would reveal, followed by a hearing, followed by more days of analysis of what happened in the last hearing and more material on Twitter. Lethal.

with more explicit information re the DOJ part that was the focus of that hearing. In fact, new information would create the need for new clips and possibly a new witness.

Now, it could be the stated reasons were the real reasons. It could be that the comments, coverage et al was still continuing from the first two and they simply wanted to not step on those discussions - so they moved this one back. However, if that were the case, why not postpone the Pence focused one scheduled for tomorrow?

Although I am old enough to have read or watched the Watergate hearings as a young 20 something, these are at least tied as well run, well designed hearings. The organization laid out the first night on what would be covered in later hearings showed a very careful, organized effort to get to many roots of what happened. They also much more than I had expected focused on the TOP, not the low level participants. Given how well the first two hearings were, I would trust them that any changes to schedule made were the result of deliberate thoughtful discussions of the committee. The intent was almost certainly that it would enable them to better expose who did what in the long trail leading to January 6.

on the subject of the set over hearing came forward, needs to be interviewed and evaluated. Note that the Wednesday hearing on DOJ interference didn't get moved to Thursday. It's in limbo. Thursday hearing is still what was scheduled... on the subject of pressure on Pence.

And hoping maybe the JD/AG came to them and requested that they delay a day or 2 because they had some hot stuff and did not want to scare a possible witness

said it was “primarily” because of video issues…” Chris called her on it (“Primarily?”) and she smiled demurely and said “let’s just leave it at that.”

The reason for the postponement; Trump went into labor and the committee wants to wait until Trump has his calf so he can watch.
