Here's what happens when a state gets so polarized that there's no way a republican can lose an election: The state's largest city is flooding and no one knows where the governor even is...all we know is that he is on vacation somewhere that is not the US.

@hankgreen
We still literally do not know where Governor Gianforte is. No one will say.

He got elected the next day. That was his House run.

Now he's governor and he's been gone for a week. I guess billionaires get to do that even when they are holding public office.

So I think he's in Moscow. He can't say where he is so that's probably it unless he's at maga laga which is unlikely.

Wherever that criminal is, he's up to no good.

We're having one of the worst disasters in decades and he's MIA.

Since Daines was his international sales guy when they were business partners, shipping jobs overseas, I suspect Daines made a connection for body-slammer in Moscow a couple years ago. I suspect he's making plans for ratfucking the election.

He was a member of the House during part of the insurrection and all the Montana delegation EXCEPT Tester, were part of the conspiracy to conduct a coup.

Montana, if you want someone who gives a damn, call a Democrat. Yes, they're still around in your State.

In the local Montana news.....

Especially the NAZI.

Greg Gianforte has disturbing ties to white nationalists.

Everyone now knows that Gianforte, who may win his race for Montana’s House seat against Democrat Rob Quist today, is violent. Fewer seem to realize that he also has ties to white nationalism, but that information has become newly relevant after his attack on Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs.

As the HuffPost’s Dana Liebelson reported last September, during Gianforte’s failed bid to become Montana’s governor, he was once connected to a disturbing offshoot of the classical Christian school movement:

Greg Gianforte, the wealthy technology entrepreneur who’s challenging incumbent Steve Bullock (D) for the Montana governor’s seat, served with [Douglas] Wilson on the board of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools, which the pastor co-founded. (Wilson is an ex officio member of the board, which means he doesn’t vote.) Both men spoke at the group’s conferences in 2014 and 2015. Gianforte praised Wilson at the 2014 conference.

Wilson does not openly identify as a neo-Confederate, but he’s close: With co-author Steven Wilkins, Wilson authored a book that characterized the institution of slavery as “a relationship based upon mutual affection and confidence.” He said of the ante-bellum South, “There has never been a multiracial society which has existed with such mutual intimacy and harmony in the history of the world.”

Continues…

The last Democratic Governor of Montana, Brian Schweitzer, said, “Montana is full of racists.” And that was that.

The Red States are not monolithically red. I have only visited Montana for two short moments while visiting the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks in 2017. The people were very friendly and kind. I have wanted to return ever since.

As for the MIA Repuglian governor: typical bully who meets Elbert Hubbard’s definition:

“A conservative is a man who’s too cowardly to fight and too fat to run.”

for Montana and surrounding states not a systemic transportation breakdown. In that it is not one or a few, it is most of the arterial system in the GYE.

I have spent the last 25 years working in infrastructure resiliency and flood damage assessment and repair.I understand the need for political 'leaders' to be available to cut through institutional barriers when responding to regional disasters such as this.

Also, I lived in that region for a number of years in the 90's . . building roads. From what little I have seen, there is a lot of damage.

But, hey, what do I know.

I post:

"Lot bigger problem than the biggest city flooding . . . They have a major systemic problem with the transportation network. "

Simply expressing my opinion, as a professional working in disaster recovery, the that damage to the road system is extensive.

You post:

"Montana has lots of issues ... Transportation is not the biggest one. I don't see what you're talking about. DO you live here?"

Beats me.

Simply a response to your trolling approach to dialogue.

You post:

"Wow ... You're all over the place there, guy. Maybe try being coherent, it matters. "

Yes, being coherent does matter.

Oh, by the way. The NPS has closed the northern half of Yellowstone for the season, and the caterwalling about economic impacts on towns in . . . Montana . . . has begun.
