1. For 5 years after the end of World War 2,..NO ONE thought there could be another War. (Korean War)

2. I deeply thought that Nixon was the worst possible President, then along came Trump.

3. I also thought that "Landing on the Moon" would be the greatest accomplishment of humans, but another accomplishment came along....."hand held computers"

4. The idea of an electric car was ridiculous, but guess who was wrong again?

5. Black & White TV was the main show......but now we have Color TV, and Computers too

6. Watergate was the very worst corruption in U.S. History....Now we have 1/6 Gate.

7. We had 48 States in the U.S..."NO MORE" ,,,possible....Now we have 50 States...Is that correct?

8. One ..."Billionaire"...was impossible...Now we have many.

9. Autos have all the necessary equipment..(thought in the 60s)..What about small back up cameras?

10. You got to read a book, and that takes time and effort. (Now the book will read itself to you) ..no effort at all

Technology is called upon to rescue us from the technology that was misused to get us in this pickle.

The purpose of all these inventions, social theories (including conspiracies), pathways to wealth, fame and power is to make us happy.

They don't. They cause division, exhaustion, wars, hatred and falsehoods. They make us unhappy unless we get more, faster, shinier, more powerful things and "victories" over things that scare us, or are just plain "different" from us. Once you go down that path, there's NEVER ENOUGH. Someone always has more.

Looking for happiness outside of ourselves is the problem, not the solution.
Happiness comes from the power to change things, and ourselves, within us.

Only that can change greed, hatred and delusion into
generosity, kindness and wisdom.

I choose happiness as a starting point.

Yes, it might take some time to catch on. Beats MORE of the same.

and BTW, the real life-improving developments were breakthroughs, rather than more.
