Late Capitol Cop's Girlfriend Sends Icy Message To Jarvanka

The girlfriend of late U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick has pointed the finger at Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump for their part in the insurrection that led to her partner’s death.

Sandra Garza appeared on CNN Thursday following the third hearing of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack. Her boyfriend, Sicknick, was assaulted during the riot, collapsed after returning to his office that day and died about eight hours later. Medical officials said he suffered two strokes.

“I was actually more moved on the first hearing with a lot of the testimony that I heard,” Garza said, “because there was so many people that could have intervened and said, ‘You know what? I’m going to go to the media. I’m going to go to the press. I’m going to scream from the rooftops and try and stop this.’”

“They knew Trump intimately. They knew how dangerous he was. And nobody did anything to stop him.”

Seeing her on camera this week made me suspect she was getting more “nip ‘n’ tuck” done.

No facial expression, no movement in any part of her face. Must be fairly fresh. And once you start down that road, you can’t afford to stop - if you’re determined to try to “keep your looks.” I imagine she goes in quite regularly for touch-ups, so nobody notices much difference. But while you’re healing, you dare not use your face. You avoid facial expressions, laughing, smiling, even yawning - while everything “sets.” I remember back in the day reading about the glamorous actress Gina Lollobrigida - that she “hardly smiles.” That’s from getting face work. You’ve gotta not laugh or smile too broadly, to guard against your facial features moving around and defeating the Botox or whatever work you just had done. You don’t go get injectables right before a night out at the local comedy club!

Hey, I covered Hollywood for years. I saw a lot. It was always fun covering the American Film Institute’s yearly event that always brought out “old Hollywood” and big names from yesteryear. Some folks in the press area spent the evening spotting the facelifts, chin jobs, neck jobs, eye lifts, boob jobs, hair pieces and plugs and toupees, and more. It was a fun way to spend an evening, but a bit gruesome as well, cuz one was always looking for a soundbite or two from a Hollywood elder that you could bank - for later use in their obits.

Can any of you forget the vitriol hurled at us for daring to be a little different than anyone those haters had ever previously encountered?

"No respect." That was the charge. For elders, institutions, status quo, and of particular interest in this context - the police. Were you, anyone you knew...anyone you had even heard of...people that would beat a policeman to death, no matter how idiotic a setting your social and moral compass was set to?

The way it was talked about...the way WE were talked about, BITD...you'd have thought we were hellspawn. Now THIS has become a thing a major political party is attached to?
