The damage has been done to democracy in America. The belief in, and the integrity of, elections has been called into question by one particular party that constantly conspire in jackbooted goosestep to continue undermining belief in and the integrity of elections. People on both sides of the aisle have begun to question the integrity of elections. Will I be able to vote. Will my vote count. Who's counting the vote, one of us or one of them?
The damage has been done to democracy in America. Even here people post about the integrity of the Supreme Court, the DoJ, the FBI and other government alphabet soup institutions. All because of one particular party that constantly conspires in jackbooted goosestep to corrupt and undermine the US Government institutions when they don't control Congress or the Whitehouse. Institutions that they use, when in power, in jackbooted goosestep to inflict and enforce their beliefs and opinions on the rest of America.
The damage has been done to democracy in America. One fifth to one third of American voters don't even believe the Jan 6th Committee is legit or the information the committee are putting out is the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth.

After over 33000 recorded and documented instances, increasing in count every single day, of "misspeaking" we could never ever trust or believe that man was speaking the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth. He breaks oaths and promises for a living and makes money at it! Just ask all those folks that stormed the Capitol for that CEO where their pardons are or when they can expect them. Ask them who pays or paid for their legal defense. Damnit, we, the American taxpayers are paying our taxes to defend in a court of law, the very people out to commit crimes and destroy democracy in America along with our legal system, justice system, law enforcement systems.
Now I ask this question for YOU, the reader, to think over, and as Sean Connery's character in the Untouchables asked of Kevin Costners character, "what are YOU prepared to do"?
Me, I like to think that I'm going to be able to stay cool or at least dry as this hot summer of discontent plays out ... and as battlelines are drawn, even in this house where I live.
