Anti-LGBTQ threats, fueled by internet's far right 'machine,' shut down trans rights and drag events

Inundated with threats during Pride Month, LGBTQ+ rights advocates and allies have been forced to cancel events and involve local law enforcement authorities after a group of white nationalists were arrested outside a Pride event in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.

California state Sen. Scott Wiener said he was at a supermarket Sunday when he was alerted by a staff member not to return to his home before calling police. Wiener, who had joked on Twitter about making “Drag Queen 101 part of the K-12 curriculum” in response to a tweet last week by a Texas state House representative announcing a bill seeking to ban drag shows in the presence of minors, had received an email saying there was a bomb in his house.

Bomb-sniffing dogs had to clear Wiener’s apartment before he went back in.

“There is a very orchestrated network of right-wing accounts and personalities to coordinate on whatever the current attack message is and who’s going to be targeted. And they have an army of social media trolls who amplify their messages,” he said in a phone interview. “It’s a very orchestrated attack machine.”

The bomb scare directed at the state senator’s home was just one of several threats and intimidation tactics aimed at LGBTQ activists in the last week, some just hours after the high-profile arrests of 31 members of the white nationalist group Patriot Front in Idaho on Saturday.

1. The MAGAts needed someone new to pick on.

They've already done Black people, Latinos, women, poor people, immigrants, Muslims, Jews, gay people, disabled people, liberals, and teachers. "Now what? Where are we going to find another disadvantaged minority to focus hate and fear on? Oh, I've got it! Transgender people! There aren't very many of them and we can easily make millions of ignorant rubes fear that their daughters will be unable to compete in sports and will get molested in public ladies' rooms! And that their kindergarteners will grow up to be drag queens! Perfect!"

2. The "party" of "freedom" on full display

Freedom for anyone who is like them, of course. White cishet conservative males? All the freedoms for you! You can do what you please, say what you please, live the life you please. After all, they are the only Real Americans around. The only truly protected class in America. The ultimate rugged, tough individuals. Hell, the Constitution? Only for them. Freedom of speech for them. Protections for them. And if you don't "respect their authoritah"... They have the second amendment and all the guns.

Of course, they are no longer a party. They're a domestic terrorist organization, ran by the exact opposite of "rugged individuals." They're ran by a collection of whiny, wimpy snowflakes who go crying to mommy because "That president was black!" and "That person is gay!" and "OH NO! DRAG QUEENS!!!!" So they whine. Then they throw a tantrum. And when that doesn't work, well... They have all the guns and plenty of bombs too. So let's just threaten some violence. And if that doesn't work...

They think they have the right to terrorize Pride, terrorize drag shows, terrorize anyway who isn't like them. The only thing these psychopaths have learned from the "war on terror" was how to commit terror, and begin a war with us.

Someone needs to get this under control before we have a massacre somewhere.
