On Wednesday the NM Supreme Court granted an emergency petition for writ of mandamus and ordered the Otero County Commission to approve the results of the primary election they won't approve due to ballot conspiracy theories by today

At least one commissioner is refusing

A New Mexico county commissioner convicted for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol has vowed to defy a state Supreme Court order and not certify primary-election results in his county during a scheduled Friday meeting. https://wapo.st/3QEDtaG

Issuance of the writ of mandamus indicates the NMSC views it as a non-discretionary duty—it's required by statute and they don't have the discretion to decide not to declare the results

A) From colleague Jake Gibson. Federal Judge Trevor McFadden sentences 'Cowboys for Trump' and Otero, NM County Commissioner Cuoy Griffin to 14 days in prison and a $3,000 fine in connection with Capitol riot. Was found guilty of trespassing on Capitol grounds on 1/6/21.

B) But Griffin did not enter the Capitol. Griffin says he was “sorry for any violence that happened that day." McFadden noted it was rare to prosecute someone who didn't enter the Capitol. But Griffin climbed up onto the inauguration platform on the West Front of the Capitol.

This should be a huge national story, because counties across the nation are buying into this nonsense and putting fanatics into positions of responsibility.

If not, lock them all up for contempt indefinitely until they comply, or remove them and appoint commissioners who will.
