Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) told MSNBC that she saw Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) giving tours of the Capitol the day before the certification was going to take place on January 6, 2021.
Said Dingell: There was a whole group of visitors. We werent even supposed to have visitors inside of the complex
They werent wearing masks and I was irritated enough that went over and complained to the police.
She added: There were tours and I was a witness to more than one.

(9,090 posts)said that and if she says she saw two and both aren't laudermilk then she saw one of the other usual suspects.
all the congresspeople who saw those would have been interviewed and she wouldn't want to name the other knowing it would come out.
i hope earlier in the interview she didn't say both were laudermilk

(58,785 posts)certainly by the DOJ. Just like the sample presented to us at the hearing.
But in any case, we know that the house committee has interviewed over 1000 people and that the very close-mouthed DOJ has requested transcripts.
Chuck Rosenberg believes both will have interviewed (many of) the same people and the biggest reason the DOJ would want the house's documentation would be to look for discrepancies between their respective interviews of people they plan to prosecute.

(8,643 posts)elected officials get clearance by virtue of being elected, they do not need to go through a specific clearance process like others. They see the intel as needed. Meaning, those on intelligence committee will be able to see it without having to go through a vetting process.

(25,725 posts)Like you know what's the daily average? Or the monthly average? There's got to be record of this. So if dipshit only gives 10 tours a year than all the sudden gives five on the day before and it's pretty much proven what he was doing.

(89,289 posts)All good questions.
Now, who do we have to see for some honest answers? I think we should be asking everybody, everywhere, who is, or might be, in a position to know (or know WHO knows). And we shouldn't shut up about it til we get some confirmed answers from some objectively reliable sources.

(555 posts)I worked for a Senator, so it was even more unlikely that the member would give a tour himself as everyone in the state was a constituent. However, the only time I saw him give a tour was to the family of a young man who died in the Iraq war (which my boss voted against so it was doubly awkward.)

(15,163 posts)Remember when the representatives were 'crashing' the metal detectors that were install at chamber doors? People keep saying "and the Capital was closed to tours during Covid." That's for people who care to obey the rules! That doesn't include this crowd. So what are the police really suppose to do when do when a rep shows up with 5 people in tow? "Its' alright, they're with me Jerry."

(3,449 posts)These defective people trying to break everything in sight with absolutely no plan for the future (any future) must be stopped at all costs. The pawns; proud boys, patriotic (psychotic) front, kkk (what's left of those sick fucks), oath (definitely 'oaf') keepers, et al, are for the most part the dregs of society. They don't realize they're being played to do the dirty work and ultimately pay the price. The instigators, they continue to come up with more insanity while laughing all night long. Sipping cognac, brandy, REALLY good bourbon on the rocks, they scheme, they scam, they really don't give a fart, shart or even an entire actual shit about this country or its future. Money... power... that's it.
Don't bother protesting the likes of Moscow Mitch, Radical Rand, Cornyn, DeathSentence, etc. Go straight to the HQ's of the gougers. Go to Wall Street and/or any other stock exchange. Harass the traders and speculators. Endless, non-stop. They may only be the messengers in this case but, they're some of the major cogs that facilitates all this madness.
I'm too poor to mount a significant front by myself but, there are actually millions of us. I always vote straight D. No purity tests, no qualms (unless we know they're a POD in sheep's clothing). I have no problem with joining with anyone in my area to push the issue. In my mind that's, just what kind of society do we really want to live in? Take a good long look at the cold, hard realities we experience every day. We can do better.

(8,807 posts)But what I noticed in loudermilks 'tour' I saw was that one person was talking to him. One. Like keeping him distracted while other adults were straying away from him and snapping pictures while the ONE kid acted all ADHD to me.
Then I saw Lowdermilk interviewed and his excuse was well there were KIDS on the tour. (and he said THEY were really interested in the TROLLEY CARS members use !) I didn't see that kid interested in anything. He was bouncing off the walls.....but I think the adults were interested. Hmmm The trolley cars members ride in between the Capitol and the offices, ya don't say, hmmm? I can't imagine why insurrectionists would be interested in the TROLLEY cars THE MEMBERS MOVE ABOUT IN.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
