Of course Cuoy Griffin is not there in person because he was in D.C. being sentenced for crimes he committed January 6th.

Couy Griffin says "by them saying they would press felony charges against us if we voted not to certify the election, what kind of heresy is that?

@srl
Griffin says he's still voting no. "It's not based on any evidence, it's not based on any facts." Says it's based on his intuition and gut.

"We have no proven black and white fact that anything was wrong," a second commissioner is stating now. Also, failure to certify means all the candidates' efforts are for naught, & they won the election "fairly," so refusing to certify is unfair to them.
"My vote to remain a 'no' is not based on any evidence, not based on any facts, but based on my gut intuition," Griffin says over the phone (he is in DC after being sentenced for a crime committed 1/6/2021).
Mandamus works. The commission certifies the results 2-1.

(11,730 posts)10. Gut intuition is "bullshit" if not combined with evidence.
Also, gut intuition that is informed by prejudice, bigotry, and misinformation, is not "gut intuition".
I have been working in social services, from mental health work, to working with developmentally disabled people, to investigations for elder abuse. I know about "gut intuition". We are taught to listen to our body. If something doesn't feel right, we should attend to is. What is ALSO taught to check your gut intuition and always be aware of how your own bias influence your "gut".
The guy is full of shit. He has a specific outcome in mind. That is not "gut intuition" it is all bias.
