I play around on youtube when I'm really bored - mostly reaction music videos, recipes, or pet rescue stories and such. Lately, I'm seeing a great amount of the rightwing inundating what have previously been music reactions; Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and their ilk.
No offense intended for those folks trying to make a buck reacting to music, but they aren't particularly astute politically, and many of them seem to be eating this shit up, taking it for truth. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the amount of this BS lately has grown tremendously, and I think it's a purposeful effort to influence people to their way of thinking.
I have unsubscribed to most of them, but with everything going on now, and the things we're discovering, I'm kind of worried. Many of these people have subscribers in the thousands. Some of the the subjects I'm seeing include the following:
Ben Shapiro DEBATES Changing Your Gender On Medical Files
Tucker On Biden & Kamala Have Made Things A Lot Worse
Candace Owens - Democrats Are Lying To Yo They Want Power Not Truth
The Truth About Black Americans Being Stolen from Africa
These are just a few. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I over reacting?

(1,513 posts)there was even an outbreak of right wing posting on LinkedIn not too many months ago.
it stopped, so I think that LinkedIn stepped in and started deleting posts and banning people. but it was pretty bizarre while it lasted.
LinkedIn is not a place to start a political discussion.

Over the last year or so of doing that I've seen fewer and fewer of them, until now when I almost never see them anymore.

(13,088 posts)I spend most of my time on YouTube.
I have noticed a major increase in the last month.
Sympthsical
(9,037 posts)Which is a little odd, because I don't engage with politics on YouTube. "My god, I can tell this person is serious. They got dressed before giving their opinion in their bedroom!"
The only thing I figure is that because I read around a lot with Google, and Google owns YouTube, stuff slides into their systems across sites.
