He has no idea what the Constitution says, but he will probably end up being sentence to significantly more than the 9 years he was offered in the plea deal.
Not bright.

(295 posts)Brain dead tool. When you turn down a plea deal from the feds, you will get MORE time and they will make sure you serve every day of it
Pepsidog
(6,254 posts)sentenced to deals better than the plea offer? He better win otherwise the 108 months in prison will look good. In my state of NJ aggravated assault on a cop with a weapon is a crime of the first degree and a crime of violence which means he would get, presuming he had no other criminal record, 15 years 85% of that time to be served without the possibility of parole. You dont beat cops with bats and get good plea deals. What did Baretta sayif you cant do the time then dont do the crime.

(5,519 posts)he was defending his constitution. Nobody in this country gets to own
their own constitution. It is OUR constitution
The US Constitution belongs to
each and every citizen. And by the rules set forth in OUR Constitution, and the civil
rules of the US, he is being sent to jail. Bug-bye you dumb mf.

(16,925 posts)Here's the thing:
You were NOT 'defending' "your Constitution" - YOU were part of an INSURRECTION - trying to OVERTHROW a fair and honest election in OUR country!
You did NOTHING to 'honor' OUR Counstition - you tried to subvert it. OUR Constitution says that YOU should be put away for a while.
Enjoy your stay - you deserved it.

(16,370 posts)Or does he actually think he has a chance of not being convicted? Either way, he's a ginormous idiot. When prosecutors offer a deal like that, it means they have the goods on you, and they're being nice enough to offer you a lesser sentence in return for saving them and the court system the time and money involved in putting on a trial.
I'm sure he'll get a lot more time than that when he's convicted by a jury (as he most certainly will be). Especially if his defense is that he was "defending my Constitution." His lawyer will probably try to keep him from using that, because they know it would get him laughed out of the courtroom, but these J6 folks aren't always willing to take sensible advice
As Bugs would say, "What a maroon!"
