(11,767 posts)The Second Amendment has already been compromised, many many times. The fact that rifles with barrels shorter than 16 inches require a special stamp or are illegal. The fact that you need a special stamp to by an automatic rifle (machine gun). The fact that states are explicitly allowed to have different legal standards for firearms, magazine capacity, permits, etc... The fact that arch conservative Justice Scalia stated explicitly in Heller, that state laws that didn't explicitly prohibit firearms, but restricted certain types and denoted who had a right to own and carry. All of those things are ALREADY compromises.
I know that Boebert is incredibly ignorant and extremely unintelligent. Why does she have to continuously provide examples!?! Someone needs to take away her phone.

(15,484 posts)All of the Amendments are compromises on the Constitution.
The Constitution itself is a deeply flawed document. We fought a Civil War over its flaws. And through a series of compromises, enacted specific Amendments to correct those flaws.
We continue to seek ways to amend the Constitutions flaws.
However, amendments themselves can prove to be ill-considered and need to be revised. It's why the 21st repealed the 18th.
One day, we'll recognize the errors inherent in the 2nd Amendment and finally take steps -- through compromise -- to fully rectify them.

(7,737 posts)The accusations have not been debunked- and Mrs. Boebert has only threatened to sue. The group that made the allegations (American Muckrakers- a PAC) have stated they welcome the lawsuit and furthermore have left the claims up on their website.
Why don't you wait until she actually sues before making your claim?

Than you, tanyev. Had not seen Chilibugs complete chronological collection.
Appropriating 1776 as code especially ticks me off.
