Seems that President Biden got foot caught in clip on bike and fell over

He had basically come to a stop, but couldn't get his foot out of the clip when putting it down. Hope he is ok. I love him getting exercise and getting outside, but definitely scary seeing someone his age take a spill. Have had that with my grandparents and parents in the past and that can end up bad. Keep fighting Joe!

It takes a few fails and falls to learn for most people and I doubt his ego could have handled it.

He'd have thrown the bike down, kicked it and declared he never wanted to ride a dumb bike anyway.

I came up to a stop light, while in traffic, and couldn’t get my foot out of the clip. I slowly started to fall over and had to put my left hand on the car next to me to stop the fall. The passengers in the car thought it was hilarious. I didn’t.

I’m “only” 60, and I won’t go near those anymore.

At my age, what would be a minor bike accident for a much younger person could fuck me up for life. And I have way fewer people depending me than Mr Biden.

I don't want to seem to imply that he can't be a great President commenting about frailty, but the fact is he is at that age that your bones are just not as robust as they are when you are younger. Happens to just about everyone. I have seen it first hand with my relatives too, and I think many people have no idea how devastating a fall can be.
I know he loves his bike, but wish they would just have him ride a stationary bike and like you said, jog or walk outside for his fresh air/exercise while in Delaware.

I can promise a man of his experience knows how to fall with the bike - and he clearly does it right in the video.

I can pretty well guarantee he's fallen with the bike because the damn bell bottoms wiggled loose and got stuck in the chain.

Actually given his general personality I can guess he's been ejected clean off the bike more than a few times in life. That's a man who has probably tried most every bike daredevil thing he and his friends could dream up. Part of why I like him so much.

I've had issues with pulling my shoes out of them before. I use regular shoes when biking, not bike shoes. They're not really designed for toe clips, but I like toe clips for going uphills.

Glad he's ok.

I find it kind of sad if we have to compare Joe to tfg.

He did fall off his bike (yes, with foot caught) while standing still. It’s happened to me, and after finding out I was ok, my friends laughed at me too.

And we did laugh at Bush every time he did something clumsy. And we still laugh at tfg for his buffoonery.

Sorry, can’t have it both ways,

The instinctive move is to put your hand out, and that's how you can really get hurt, breaking a finger or spraining your wrist. Much better to let your butt take the impact. You might get a deep bruise, but unlikely to do major or permanent damage.

the rural route blacktopped road, so I moved all the way to the right. When got closer he started drifting to my side. I looked at the driver and immediately saw he was distracted looking down at something. I hit the gravel shoulder and the bike took a spill. The truck missed running over my head by inches. Right after he passed me the truck hit the gravel and that got his attention and he straightened out his truck and kept right on driving completely unaware he almost killed me. My left leg was bleeding from the gravel, but I felt lucky to be alive. I had a brightly colored florescent safety vest on and he still didn't see me. The many distracted drivers out there has made bicycling very dangerous.
