Yet, an Australian journalist is facing collusion and espionage charges for receiving leaked information and passing it on to be published, information about horrors in Iraq and Afghanistan, while our government says it puts American lives at risk, saying he has blood on his hands. This Australian is out of favor here on DU, many members supporting his extradition and prosecution.

Is threatening the publishers of deeds done in our name and on our dime not tyranny? Was the New York Times and it’s reporters charged for publication of the Pentagon Papers, No. Threatened, yes, not charged, as has been the way of it in the US..

Now, the government says—we decide who is and is not a journalist. That’s tyranny. And, this mess is designed to remove the focus from the government and generals who really do have blood on their hands.
