Possible J6 outcomeLast edited Sun Jun 19, 2022, 01:00 PM - Edit history (1)
I wonder if McConnell will offer up a binding resolution in the senate to ban donny from running for any elected office again in exchange to make all the J6 just go away.
Would you accept it? In reality, I probably would. Just to finally forget about trump. To see him not have any chance to sit in the oval office would be a huge relief.

1. No, Not Gonna Happen
They had their chance to ban him during the Impeachment.
Despite what anybody says, Turtle would be perfectly happy having TFG as President again. He simply wants a repub in that position, and TFG is the party favorite. |

2. Seems like that wouldn't survive in the courts.
Certainly if he’s convicted of something, he could be disqualified. But it feels like a dangerous precedent to allow either the senate or house to simply disqualify a person from office “because”. If allowed, what would stop Mitch from voting to bar…say Kamala Harris or Pete B or John Doe (D-anywhere) from running.

4. Yes, I'd accept it because of the difficulty in proving the charges they would bring.
There's difficulty proving them because they require knowledge on the part of the perpetrator that what he was doing was wrong. "He was out of touch with reality," say some of his staff. And there you go. Reasonable doubt that he understood what he was doing was wrong. What about all those advisors? Well, he chose to believe Eastman and Giulianni. Pound a jury with "reasonable doubt." Would you like to see him brought to trial and acquited?

5. McConnell had his chance during the 2nd impeachment
He could have ended Chump's political career for good... but he chickened out.

7. Too late for that. Cat is out of the bag.
Most here will disagree with me, but I think the DOJ will be giving tfg a molten lava enema.

8. I think he might give up Trump if Cruz and Hawley go free.
I feel certain these kind of negotiations are underway now.
McConnell will be hell bent on retaining his majority. |
