I believe the election was stolen. I did not try and stop the vote count, I just wanted it delayed so the legislators in the states could take a look at it. It was a peaceful protest that got out of hand. Good fucking luck Trump, you are going to need it.
He is admitting to the crimes, he is trying to spin it as if it was legal. Trump has used the same pattern over and over again. Now that pattern is worn out.

(182,788 posts)Yes there was damage and looting but during the day there were actually protests. Sort of carried on CNN and MSNBC but nada on Fox.
They say that knowing that they all know the joke.

(47,419 posts)Trump has basically used the same playbook for most of his life. I suppose it never dawned on him that it wouldn't always work. Honestly, I think it is a miracle that he got away with it for so long.

(5,443 posts)With a scheme that included fake electors, wanting Pence to throw the counting to the GOP congressmen, etc Doesn't matter that he didn't believe the vote was legitimate-- it's not his decision, so not an excuse. That's independent of his role in the insurrection, which may have been included in the plot, but is not necessary to potentially convict-him .
