Pooty Poot 'threatens action' against ex-Soviet states if they defy Russia

Vladimir Putin has issued a thinly-veiled threat to former Soviet Union countries – warning they could share the same fate as Ukraine for defying Russia.

The Russian President made clear he would not hesitate to take the same action against them should they turn against the Kremlin, and would no longer ‘be allies’ with the country.

Mr Putin’s comments followed those of the president of Kazakhstan, who had described the pro-Russian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Donbas as ‘quasi-states territories’.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sat metres away from him at the St Petersburg Economic Forum, he claimed Kazakhstan – which left the USSR in 1991 – was part of ‘historic Russia’.

To make up for their tank losses in Ukraine. They don’t have the capacity to invade another country.

And Russia remains a very dangerous country that CAN invade others. Do not think that they are anywhere near exhausted. They have enough capability to be dangerous to any neighbors.

Most of the tanks in storage are decades out of date and would be little more than helpless targets in a battlefield with MANPADS and ATGMs. Also Russia doesn’t have access to high tech components anymore so their ability to build new weaponry or upgrade old weapons is severely limited. Their tank production line has been shut down.
Then the design of Russian tanks is such that the loss of a tank almost certainly involves the loss of the crew. They can’t train new tank crews fast enough now to make up for losses.

Russia has /had approximately 7,000 T-72 tanks still in long term storage, along with 3,000 T-80’s.

Are they state of the art? No. Will they take work to get serviceable? Yes.

But a T-72 vs a Toyota truck is still a no brainer victory for the tank.

And just because we have given sone Javelins to Ukraine doesn’t mean they will always destroy T-72’s.
Right now Ukraine is consuming them at a rate far higher than the ability of the west to produce them. That’s a long term problem.

Never underestimate the power of Russia to continue to throw conscripts at a problem. They have a long, long way that they can continue, and the USA is notorious for losing interest in wars the longer they go on.

No one “wins. “

Everybody loses in the long run.

And NATO is now warning of a long drawn out war:

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/6/19/uk-nato-warns-of-long-ukraine-war-as-zelenskyy-visits-frontlines

But the way some talk here, you would think Zelensky was at the gates of Moscow. Even if they implement a cease fire today and hostilities get suspended like North and South Korea, Ukraine's economy is a basket case for at least a decade.

He is already mired in a war of attrition in Ukraine and he thinks he can expand his incompetent war into former soviet satellite/sovereign nations? This monster is completely unhinged.

And we will need LOTS more armor, artillery, and ammunition to fight very, very soon. Ukraine is just the beginning. We are in great danger everywhere from Russia, and we need to build defenses right NOW while we still have the ability to do so, and still have a little time. Soon it will be too late.

Putin has no intention of stopping at Ukraine's borders. He's telling the world out loud. He wants to reconstitute Empire under his watch.

The man is telling us who he is and what his intentions are. There is no room for argument or clay feet. We support Ukraine's defense while supporting our own defense into the future.

When a man tells you who he is? Believe it. Or live in bitter regret.

To be creating a large Army right NOW.

We need a draft, and we need to double the size of our standing Army now, because it is only a matter of time before the NATO tripwire is tripped, and our Allie’s like Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are fully engulfed in Russian tanks.

We need to convert to full defense equipment production. Start building more anti-aircraft weapons, new factories of anti-armor weapons. Wartime production of ammunition, and CALL for all Americans to donate their AR-15’s to be used in the fight against Russian aggression.

Our defense budget is already huge. But I do think we need to be mindful and vigilant bc actors like Putin and Xi Jinping are clearly not our friends. Boosting NATO is an important element and President Biden has managed to put that alliance back together again. Not an easy task after the Former Guy's disastrous 4 years.

Ukraine (in my mind at least) is a first line of defense. Our support there is critical bc there are other bad actors in the region (Lukashenko, for instance) who are already puppets of Putin's regime. Last night, I read Lukashenko said he was readying his own troops to defend Belarus against . . . Polish aggression.

Say what? Any readying is bc Putin wants those troops for the Ukraine war.

Dangerous times we are a-living.
