just in LA. State laws, as written, require reporting of suspected abuse and ultimately judicial review, but do not require the judge to view that evidence for the protection of the child.

My father (21 at the time) dated my mother (14), who got pregnant and married him, had me at 15.

He started abusing me when I was three. Three. Years. Old.

It went on until I could leave at 18 for college.

My blood boils over this young girl who was forced to give her child over to a rapist who now has complete control over a young woman who is the same age as her mother was when he raped her. What power it must make him feel, to be able to control both of his victims in this way.

This should NEVER happen.

rape victims choose to abort. Remind them that it could be their daughters or granddaughters or sisters who are raped.

I was volunteering at an abortion clinic where an aunt brought in her niece whose father beat the crap out of her when she got pregnant by his partner at work. Never mind that the partner was 56 and she was 14 or 15. It was all her fault for being a total slut.

A cop I dated had nightmares even years after going on a call about an 11 year old girl who reported her stepfather trying to rape her (she fought him off, somehow, and escaped). But that wasn't what haunted the cop. Nope, it was the girl's own mother attacking the girl--right in front of the cops!--for calling the police on her husband, getting her hands around her own daughter's neck, and nearly killing her before the cops could break it up.

I wish monsters like these didn't exist, but they do.

the first article i read about this indicated that the rapist told his victim that she didn't want to challenge him in court, because he was connected. and that appears to be true as the judge has continually ruled in favor of the rapist based on seemingly no evidence at all.
