…planned to deal with people who would have protested against his coup attempt, had it succeeded? We already know Eastman admitted that there would be uprisings across the country, had his plan succeeded, even temporarily. Surely Trump or someone close to him had plans on how to deal with people protesting against or otherwise opposing his coup and it certainly would have been very dark and horrifying. Do you think that is something we are going to hear more about?

1. The plan was to declare Martial Law, impose military control of civil functions

and suspension of civil law.

6. I don't think they would have

Some lower level people would have been into it but I doubt the military as a whole would have just accepted that Trump overthrew the government and he was the new Emperor of America based on very obvious lies about a stolen election. If they were close to joining the coup, they would have been way more involved from the beginning. Not convinced after all of Congress was murdered that Trump was the person to get into bed with.

7. The evil geniuses running the show could have manipulated the military perhaps?

We know there were some high level military involved at least indirectly in 1/6. (Mike Flynn's brother was suddenly moved from the Pentagon to the Pacific command later.)

If the evil ones had made some better plans, they could have arranged for their foot soldiers to start burning down major cities. We can see the police will only go so far to serve and protect.

The military may have felt they had no choice to intervene if domestic carnage and destruction were great enough.

The GOP would think nothing of burning it all down to get what they want.

But yes, next time the GOP will have to do some better planning to get the US military onboard with their coup.

I just wonder if we will see definitive proof of that. I think any discussions about mass arrests, bombing American cities, mass executions would really wake people up. Surely they would have been looking for evidence like that, right?

He was trying to seize control of the government and would have done anything to accomplish his goal. Donald Trump is a very sick man and is just about as bad as humans get.
