How Disney lost Florida

https://www.ft.com/content/e4e84eac-8502-4a7f-b51b-c372752b4b38

When Walt Disney became one of the first US companies to offer healthcare benefits to the same-sex partners of its employees back in 1995 the move was hailed as a big moment in the American gay rights movement.

Not everyone was in favour — some conservative Christians saw it as evidence that Disney supported “antifamily values”. But the policy inspired decades of loyalty among the company’s LGBTQ staff.

Almost 30 years later, Disney is embroiled in another controversy over its support of the LGBTQ community. This time it is facing perhaps the worst public relations crisis in its 100-year history — and now the criticism is coming from across the political spectrum.

“In a short period of time they managed to piss off both the left and the right,” says a former senior Disney executive.

In Disneyland. They haven’t abandoned the company. It’s just old fox viewers who probably won’t be going to Disneyland or Disneyworld anytime soon .

And this old liberal just put down a payment to spend 4 days in Disneyland to celebrate our sons birthday.

He says "Ok, they are super liberal hippies, but I love their ice cream." I'm like that too, I don't believe in boycotts. I still watch Arnold's movies even though he's a Republican.

And is really successful with them. But it’s pretty clear that Fox News is pulling Ron DeSantis’ strings and he’s doing literally whatever they tell him to do, no matter how stupid it might be. So once again, all of the bad things that are happening right now can be tied to Fox News.

Or did Florida lose Disney?

If it's the latter? Disney will continue on just fine without Florida. They don't need it. Between CA and other locations worldwide, and their enormous entertainment department, Disney can survive even if DeSatan bans them from the state tomorrow.

Now, if Florida lost Disney... That's a significant blow to Florida's economy. All of which will be on DeSatan and the QOP death squad. Combined with all of the other "fine" decisions that DeSatan has done to hurt Florida's economy, and all the money he's pissing away on his Jihad... Well, life in Florida won't be some sunny after all.

To this anonymous ex-exec... You really think the left is pissed at Disney? Wow. Just wow... Sure, I'm getting worn out fast on nonstop Marvel promos, but, I'd hardly call myself "pissed" at Disney. Certainly a lot less pissed at them than the QOP is.
