Two days after transgender athletes were all but barred from international women’s competition in swimming, they’re also being excluded from rugby events, the Associated Press reports.

“Until further research is completed to enable the IRL to implement a formal transgender inclusion policy, male-to-female (transwomen) players are unable to play in sanctioned women’s international rugby league matches,” the International Rugby League said in a statement.

FINA, the international swimming federation, is only allowing swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in the women’s category, while the International Cycling Union has also added restrictions.

7. I haven't watched an episode of South Park since

I was a fan going back to the first season. That episode left such a bad taste in my mouth that I just haven't been able to bring myself to watch it since.

I know South Park is edgy and "nails everyone." But that episode just felt like a collection of stereotypes, myths and right-wing memes to me, with no effort to do their own research. In fact, judging by many of the false stereotypes I've seen about trans athletes, I can't help but feel like that episode did a lot more to hurt than to help.

6. Disappointing and discouraging

Feels like these organizations would prefer bigotry over compassion. And as usual, it's the same ol' going after the MTF athletes. None of them do anything after FTM - failing to get the effects upon transitioning, hormone blockers, hormone replacement, etc..

I don't believe for a second any of the organizations care about research or science. They just want to discriminate.
