Johnson chief of staff Sean Riley texted Pence aide Chris Hodgson: Johnson "needs to hand something to VPOTUS please advise."
"What is it?" Hodgson texted back.
Riley texted in reply: "Alternate slates of electors for MI and WI because archivist didn't receive them."
Hodgson responded: "Do not give that to him."
From February 2020 to January 2021, Riley was special assistant to former president Donald Trump, working in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.
Sean Riley worked under Ron Johnson as a legislative assistant (2015), legislative counsel (2015-2017), legislative director (2017-2018), and chief counsel (2018-2020).
