13. If you have ever lived (or like me be stationed) in the Deep South,

You KNOW a Miss Ruby in your life. Mine was named Miss Mae. She had such bad arthritis from being a cleaning lady in rich folk's homes she couldn't walk without pain and she was losing her hearing. But every Sunday, there she was, putting on her Sunday best (Hat, shoes, and bag all matched. She was fond of pastels.) to walk to church. If anyone had treated Miss Mae like this, I'd have been going house-to-house, mounting a campaign for accountability AND justice. You do NOT treat an elderly, church-going, pillar of the community like this. No. You. Don't.
