I was just sitting here thinking that if we have a civil war,

and we separate into different countries, the GOP country would probably be a very militaristic, messianic Christian hellhole. That's what I see in the future for Trumpism, that's its logical conclusion. Probably be Nazis on steroids.

And half of Americans don't have a clue.

As far as splitting the country? I doubt it. Remember we have the strongest military and most powerful government in the world. All it takes is a dictator willing and able to turn that power against the people, it won't be that hard to enslave all of us.

in a perpetual civil war. That's probably more like it. People like that are always going to be starting confrontation. Civil war could be the new normal.

However, the problem that has been stated here many times is that most states are purple, with some very bright red and blue areas but a lot of the in-between as well. Any kind of split or balkanization would be a mess.

I think our best hope is to shame the MAGA fans back under the rocks from whence they came. Some of them, maybe a lot of them, never voted until Drumpf came along and gave them permission to be in-your-face uncouth, misogynist, racist, homophobic, etc. If things get uncomfortable enough (e.g. they face real consequences like getting fired, preferably by one of their "purple-haired lesbian SJW from HR" stereotypes), they might decide that their MAGA LARPing isn't worth it and finally wise up. They might also come to realize that Drumpf doesn't GAF about them or their lot in life.

These people have no no morality, no core compass. Don't see a lot of difference between them and the Nazis in the 1930s. Do we think that we could have shamed them into submission back then? No, we had to pulverize their cities and armies in order to stop them.

Don't see this scenario paying out without destruction and chaos. What the outcome will be is anyone's guess.

7. Civil war without breakaway countries.

The Federal Government and all the various State Governments are too entwined for a breakaway. This country is interdependent, the Red States and more importantly, the Federalist Society and other right wing legislative groups know Red States can't make it "alone".

They will quickly realize that they will need to grudgingly allow Blue States and "liberal pointy headed elitist" areas some autonomy to keep innovation going and wealth flowing, but they can't let just them go. The Conservative Elite still need to have their pet scientists, engineers, and doctors, as well as financial "experts".

The Civil War we are going to experience is going to be the 10% True Believer cultists against regular people in vulnerable areas of the country, and occasional mass terrorist events in the cities to keep the population "in line".
It will be on the heels of a Fascist type takeover. We won't "recover" until the Right Wing finally eats itself alive, a common historical result of this sort ideological takeover.

And all those 60% non-voting "too cool" party purists and "independents" that complain about policies that are either too radical or not radical enough will wonder how the hell they got to this place.

1. Trumpist (fascist) attempt to seize power and states/regions separate to get away from it, especially northern border states and CA.

OR

2. Climate change will force these Trumpist douchebags northward where they aren’t wanted and will be met with harsh resistance to their migration.

You're fooling yourself if you think all the tfg supporters are in the south.

I've lost count of how many of these incidents take place in NY, NJ, PA, OH, MA, and never mind the western states.

There could be a civil war. There could be two distinct countries with two governments.

My question: How do these two countries co-exist? How do you keep the MAGAts living in the "blue" USA country from attempting insurrections in order to "re-unite" THEIR country?

It will more than likely be more of a civilian based war than government military. Like for example, long term Hatfields vs. McCoys, or political motivated Bloods vs. Cryps.

As soon as people start dying, there is going to be a crack down like you would not believe.

People care about their families, safe, comfortable housing, and putting food on the table. As soon as the power goes out, or if the internet goes down, or food delivery becomes a problem, people and the government will not tolerate that.

If internal law enforcement doesn’t stop any violence, then I’m sure the govt will be happy to arrange another 9/11 or Gulf of Tonkin incident. Nothing quells internal dissent like a war against someone else.

Dylan Roof, Jim David Adkisson, Robert Gregory Bowers, et al did their part in the name of civil war. This civil war will be much more guerrilla based than anything. Making it difficult to determine what is isolated and what is not.

We're going to have political terrorism. There won't be north vs south. It will be everywhere. People in cities like mine will be targeted - we're a blue city surrounded by red rednecks. It will most likely be scattered terroristic attacks with an enemy that's hard to pin down.

I am glad I am trading in my car for a new one any day now - I don't have to take off my lefty bumperstickers now. If I was to keep that car, I'd take them off because they make me a target. Yes, I fear the hateful deplorables.

The divide isn't even at the state level, its county or even township level.

Most blue areas would end up being isolated city states, completely at the mercy of the surrounding red areas. Trump-Murica could simply not open their borders or airspace, and the blue pockets would literally starve. The only exceptions I see would be sections of the pacific coast and coastal New England.
