Mo Brooks Delivers Bitter Concession Speech
June 22, 2022 at 8:02 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
Said Brooks: Its always appropriate to congratulate the winners, and some of these winners might be a little bit unexpected, but Id be remiss if I did not congratulate the Alabama Democratic Party for helping to ensure that the Democratic nominee in the Republican primary won.
He added: Congratulations to the Democrats. They now have two nominees in the general election.

Brooks made similar remarks before the Capitol riot, when he told protesters to "start taking down names and kicking ass."

(9,719 posts)at least he said, "Democratic Party" and "Democratic nominee" in his concession speech. Most rePukes would have said, "Democrat," incorrectly using the noun as an adjective.

(9,670 posts)This just saved you the humiliation of being removed from Congress and frog-marched to jail. Consider it a gift from the Democratic Party.

(1,032 posts)Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) delivered a delusional, idiotic concession speech after media outlets projected Katie Britt the winner of the runoff election to determine Alabamas Republican Senate nominee, saying his defeat was a major victory for the Democrats, the Washington Examiner reports.
Britt is nowhere near a Dem, not even an Alabama Doug Jones Dem.

(1,032 posts)a young female clone of Shelby whom she was Chief of Staff for if I recall correctly. So sad to see such a young woman so deeply entrenched in the party of such misogynistic platforms against women. I had hopes she would be more open-minded but apparently MAGA ate their brains.

(1,654 posts)I feel like I read a lot of things online that say "Democrats don't know how to play politics and fight the right way. That's why Republicans are always winning and Democrats are always losing."
I wish these folks could see what Republicans actually think-- not many of them actually think they're winning. Brooks here thinks the Democrats are winning in Alabama. Greitens is blasting away at RINOs. They talk about Joe Biden like he's some sort of evil dictator. This isn't the talk of a party that thinks it's doing well.
And while we should always want more, I think we should also remind ourselves that we're not losing as much as people think we are.

"My basic requirement is it be in public so the public can see it -- so they don't get bits and pieces dribbled out," the Alabama Republican said. He also said he'd testify only about matters related to January 6, 2021, and wants to see copies of any documents beforehand that the panel may ask him about.
Even though the House select committee announced subpoenas for Brooks and four other Republicans last month, he had yet to be served with one because he had been campaigning for the GOP Senate nomination in Alabama. Brooks lost in a runoff Tuesday night.
Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, told CNN that the panel has "redone his subpoena" and "he's the only member we hadn't been able to serve."
