I'm ok, my post was somewhat sarcastically. But honestly that's what I did, peruse here then felt bad so went to watch the docs.
Thank you though.

5. Husband has been doing that also for a year. Swapping out constant news for the History Channel.

For some reason I find it easier to read my news on line than listen to it. His attitude is better since he started augmenting his tv time with more History and Smithsonian Channel offerings 🙂

years ago. When he retired I was torn between buying him a new laptop or a Bose CD player. I made the wrong choice. He used the lap top twice. I put it on a shelf and then got him the Bose and he loved that.

Music on a laptop, even a new one is horrible unless you use headphones and that kind of makes it a high priced walkman lol.

It’s not always helpful—painful things are painful even if the universe is immense—but it certainly helps me get over myself if my main problem is an acute case of self pity or the kind of stress that doesn’t really matter in the long run. Thanks for this lovely picture and reminder!

14. If it's clear, I go outside at night

before going to bed, to sit and watch the stars--sometimes to catch a shooting one --and listen to the night sounds. Frogs croaking, owls hooting, and occasionally coyotes moving through the woods, yipping as they go.

It is very calming.

listening to fish splashing and frogs croaking in my pond. The moon/stars overhead and a distant coyote cry and I feel at peace.
