Hearings are starting to spook allies of TFG

Donald Trump's allies are growing increasingly alarmed about the impact the House Select Committee hearings will have on his political future.

The first four hearings have highlighted testimony from Republicans, including former White House officials and aides to former Vice President Mike Pence, to lay out evidence that Trump corruptly sought to overturn his election loss and defraud his supporters, and even his inner circle seems spooked by the findings, reported NBC News.

“I look at this and say there is nobody in America who is watching this — even with all that’s going on in the world with Joe Biden — and saying, ‘Donald Trump should be the next president of the United States,’” said a person close to him. “Nobody.”

Of course we have heard all of this before. It is not as if what Trump was doing prior to Jan 6 was a mystery or anything. All of the various coup planning was pretty much done right out in the open.

But "we" aren't the totality of voters in the country, and a lot of people are hearing about this for the first time, or they have forgotten much of what occurred. There's also some new material coming out, as private conversations and phone calls are being recounted under oath for the committee in depositions.

It's important to remember, too, that the former guy has never pulled a majority vote or even a plurality vote in his runs for office. We have much work to do, but it's difficult for me to think that this re-telling of the former guy's shenanigans is bringing in new voters to his fold.
