He’s been a mobbed up crook his entire life and he’s never faced any serious consequences.

His father was a mobster. His grandfather was a mobster. Crime is all he has ever known and he has always skated.

he'll be sued for hundreds of millions. Defamation, punitive damages, theft, etc. Think of the figure that the election worker from Georgia will get after she sues Trump for many millions. And then there's the NY civil trial that could bankrupt him, and there's the GA criminal trial. Trump's got no where to run.

Perhaps worst of all is that Trump will lose his appeal to his worshippers. That 250 million he scammed from his donors is going to be reclaimed. It all really is crashing down.

He's been getting away with it since before Trump Steaks. Why would he not think he'd be able to con a whole country. Shit, most of his patsies are still ready to kiss his ass once he runs again.

chumper understands he did something wrong.

He has no concept of what corruption actually is. He has heard the word, but since it's how he has acted his entire life - with no consequences that he couldn't weasel out of. He somehow knows that corruption is supposed to be a bad thing so he throws the accusation around like acid from a super soaker.

If he is intelligent and cognizant of reality, we'll need to see evidence of it.

Plan:
https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2021/8/6/2044226/-America-2021-The-Good-the-Bad-the-Ugly
“Democracy in Crisis: We’ve Been Headed Here for Decades.” Part 1of 8
Read all 8 to get the "plan" in detail.
I strongly recommend doing so.

How it has played out in the past:
Chaos means weak government, and that means little or no regulation of oligarchs. Period.
It's exactly the Nazi Germany playbook

Normalize hate and violence.
Stochastic terrorism.
Bring down elected government.

----------
But it failed this time.

My guess is that the violence continues, assisted by impotent gun laws.
This is really, really bad.
But unlike "free speech" which has been allowed to flourish, even when it crossed the line into threats, organized violence and even individual acts of violence can be spotted early, sometimes prevented, (reference 1) but in EVERY case where violence happens, the police are REQUIRED to act against it. Yes, I know the horrible exception(s), but to stand around is dereliction of duty, not "protected speech".

The hope is that society holds and in the face of overwhelming evidence, that can't be hidden behind cult info-walls, we change for the better.

'There's This Really Consistent Pathway': How Society Can Stop Mass Shooters Before They Act

Their findings, also published in the 2021 book, The Violence Project: How to Stop a Mass Shooting Epidemic, reveal striking commonalities among the perpetrators of mass shootings and suggest a data-backed, mental health-based approach could identify and address the next mass shooter before he pulls the trigger
