he is investigating everyone connected to Jeffrey Clark. This is a conspiracy investigation. It is becoming clear Garland is investigating everyone connected to the attempted coup.
Clark has two choices, he can go to prison for Trump or he can turn on Trump.

(130,220 posts)He's just an obscure lawyer who'll almost certainly lose his law license and is at serious risk of doing time at Club Fed. He probably can't save his license, but he can reduce his prison time to something less than the federal sentencing guidelines recommended for someone with no priors if he cooperates. He might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I should think that by this time he's figured out that TFG will pretend he barely knows him and will claim the scheme was all Clark's idea. Under the bus with you, lackey! He'll flip, fer shure.

(7,794 posts)If the midterms give the house and senate to Republicans the DOJ is irrelevant forever. Putting Clark away is only valuable if he rolls so the DOJ removes current Republican criminals from the general public before this November. Everything is about votes.

(115,369 posts)He is looking to make a deal. He doesn't want to go to jail for Donald Trump.
It's like pulling a thread on a cheap suit...it begins to unwind and doesn't stop.
Mr Clark's best defense is to throw himself on the mercy of the court.
