which to him was more terrifying because he was irrational.
He said before they interviewed trump he believed trump was lying and knew it.
This was on Morning Joe. Makes me wonder if much helpful stuff will come from the newly disclosed videos.

Which is why he began the rumor of a stolen election BEFORE the actual election.

(5,268 posts)No doubt in Trump's narcissistic egotism he thought he should have won. But evidence of his statements indicates he knew he did not get more votes hence his wanting Georgia officials to just claim he had more votes with no evidence and wanted DOJ to claim fraud in order to facilitate states going along with the fake elector scheme. He deliberately used extremely exaggerated claims and wild hyperbole thinking his bluster could convince Repub officials to go along with his big lie.

The guy had a camera crew so, of course, shitgibbon and co were all about advertising the grift of the day so that was what was on the script for that guy's doc.

(7,715 posts)Remember that Trump, with almost no exceptions, NEVER was ahead against Joe Biden in ANY poll during the 2020 Presidential Election.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationwide_opinion_polling_for_the_2020_United_States_presidential_election
There was essentially clear unanimity among all polls during the entirety of the 2020 Presidential race that Joe Biden would handily beat Trump, which he did.
What the Big Lie is premised on is solely the "Red Mirage" on Election Night. In other words, many states released Election Day voting results showing Trump ahead, only because R voters tend to vote on Election Day. In fact, Trump bent over backwards to tell his voters to ONLY vote on Election Day and not to use mail-in or other early voting means.
Once states started counting mail-in and other early voting, Joe Biden gained heavily all over the US and then surpassed Trump in some key swing states, which ended the fiction of the Red Mirage. This is called the "Blue Shift" and is/was entirely expected. Please search "Blue shift politics" in Wikipedia for a good description, including in the specific context of the 2020 Presidential Election...for some reason, I can't get the link to post properly here.)
Trump has used the Red Mirage to perpetuate the lie that he had won on Election Night. No two ways about it. He tried to couch the Blue Shift as voter fraud, but that was debunked by everyone, including every court that had cases about voter fraud/irregularities.
Never forget that.

(9,670 posts)But his "diagnosis" of Trump's mental state carries ZERO value in any official proceeding. His 11 hours of video will do all the talking for him.
Just a hunch, but if the election steal was being plotted BEFORE the election, which I very much believe happened, Trump's mental state will be meaningless anyway.

(4,298 posts)Maybe at first he couldn't believe that he had lost but after the first six court losses and all his minions telling him he lost and that no evidence existed to prove otherwise, he knew he lost. His acts of desperation were criminal, period. No matter what he believed, he committed criminal acts against the US government and some states. NY criminal cases have nothing to do with the 2020 election. Just his racketeering.

If he really believed it was stolen, he is delusional and should have been nowhere near the office.
Enough people "in the know" told him he lost. Whether or not he believed he won is irrelevant.
