1. My math says ONE HUNDRED MILLION people saw NO REASON to vote in 2020...

Think about that for a minute.

Maybe what we need is a DRASTIC statement from SOMEONE to get the attention of those folks!

2. There is no majority

We've got about 1/3rd on our side, 1/3rd on theirs, and the rest in the middle to apathetic or conflicted to vote consistently.

Our side is slightly larger, but we are at an inherent geographic disadvantage due to concentration in cities

5. I agree. The majority of people just don't care enough to vote.

6. I like the idea of paying people to vote

There are 170 million registered voters in the US.

We already track who voted and who didn't.

Mail a check after each major election to everyone who voted. Make it $200, which would be $34 billion dollars every two years, or $17 billion per year. We spend $720 billion on defense each year, I'd say $17 billion to get our election turnout way over 90% is money very well spent in comparison.

Kim Kardashian has hundreds of millions of followers

we just had a reality TV president and he was the worst ever.

People don't take civics classes anymore.

People don't get to discuss political issues deeply anymore

People now live in a sound bite world. it's hard to get them to pay attention long enough to hear your point and that is by design !

We also expect people to work. we give you 2 weeks off a year. work to pay for everything. we are the most well off country in the world , but most people work hand to mouth, month to month, when do they have time to deal with these issues ????

This is all by design. if everything moves fast, most can't pay attention to what is important.

4. Organize around this!

This is the only issue that matters right now, it's more important than the economy or inflation!

Everyone needs to understand clearly that you aren't free anymore if you do not vote in November. Everyone needs to know the horrors that abortion bans mean.

8. This was a big motivator a few months ago, and is again now.

Between those peaks, we had a mass shooting or three, so gun-control laws became the big motivator. Between now and November, maybe some other thing (inflation? war?) will be the big motivator.

The right to choose is one motivator that Democrats seem passionate about, and also seem to agree on. The other issues might cause passion, but little agreement.

I hope this ruling by the U.S. Extreme Court is remembered in November.
