The time for "religious tolerance" is over.

We on the Left, *especially* those of us who are "non-believers", have tolerated an enormous amount of, frankly --bullshit-- from the conservative xtians in this country.

No more, not from me. Now it will be unveiled scorn and ridicule. Pretty soon, I may even revisit my position on firearms, as protection.

Dark times have been on the horizon, and today the storm clouds are overhead.

I wonder if Joe could withhold ALL Fed $ to states outlawing abortion?

Yes, it's a tfg-tactic, but why not make them squirm?

It'll make you feel good. But in effect you'd be going after Black churches and Jewish synagogues -- big parts of the Democratic base.

anyone but themselves.

What we need to stop tolerating is public policy driven by anything other than objective facts. And the only way to do that is to elect better people and convince everyone we know to stop voting for amoral idiots. And work on gerry-mandering and voter suppression laws that tip the balance to morons even when they are outvoted.

yesterday: President Biden and Speaker Pelosi.

The fact they choose to be Catholics is not the problem. They understand they do not have the right to impose the beliefs and practices of their religion on others AND that the Constitution protects all of us from having any particular religious belief system foisted upon us.

This is the distinction that must be made.

He said conservative xtians. So liberal religious people who do not want to force their beliefs onto the rest of us through the laws are excluded.

Armageddon and the Rapture are imminent, and that Jesus will return to set up his kingdom on earth, and will FIX ALL THE GODDAMN PROBLEMS on this planet, so there's no need for us to do anything about it now, and in fact, hey let's expedite the process and force his hand into coming even sooner!

by every measure. As they double and triple down on this it will drive more and more from the Church. I fear they will do more extreme things because they don’t get it.

Many Churches have moved way beyond this but apparently not GOP worshipers.
