It's actually miraculous that we held onto Roe for 50 years

We had a few lucky breaks along the way. Sandra Day O’Connor, David Souter, and Anthony Kennedy.
In Planned Parenthood v Casey, Roe was almost overturned, but the night before Harry Blackmun talked Kennedy out of going with the anti-choice majority.

I got involved in abortion rights in 1976, because I always feared this day would come. It was always only one vote away.

Souter wasn't properly vented by Bush either, so they got duped by three of their own Justices.

They knew it would be terrible for the country to overturn Roe. They just wanted to keep stringing the rubes along.
