But this is an 'interesting' thing my lovely GF (a medical professional) informed me of hearing about today, talking with her associates (mostly women).

it really is going back to the old days, which, as we know ... is a favorite notion of our conservative countrymen.

If you think your family is complete or if you dont have and dont want children - why take a chance?
I know that vasectomy is less invasive and an easier surgery. But I think many women (I was one of them) want control of their bodies themselves. I knew when I was pregnant with #2 that he would be my last baby. If Id been widowed/divorced and remarried, I was still done having kids.
