i only ask because the right has made mowing down protestors basically legal in places like Florida (i know this is Iowa) but a right wing statehouse in Iowa could try to do the same thing to portray the driver as a victim of a mob, afraid for his life

The video shows people running up to the truck after the fact, when they saw what he was doing.

29. Most red states (including Iowa) passed laws protecting drivers who hit protestors

and arrest the protesters who block roads. So the protesters would get jail time, not the driver.

These laws were passed after the BLM protests a few years back when people really wanted to kill black people. I don't expect them to change it now that there are white women protesting. They're fine with running down liberals of all demographics.
