You know their families etc. are not just going to sit home and do nothing.

People are human, and when you think about the numbers of right-winged, white, rich males in the GQP who make sure their mistresses, side-pieces, wives are entitled to get all of the abortions they want to have, meanwhile they want to make sure the woman in YOUR life has to deal with an exploding Fallopian tube which is extremely painful that will lead to DEATH. Most folks don't take kindly to you demanding that they die from an ectopic pregnancy when they could have had a medical procedure to save the life of the mother.

They won the first battle. Subjugating and control women.
Next battle will be LGBTQ.

there are powerful people who want us at war with each other. Trump not only did things we didn't like, he rubbed it in our faces. Everything he did was to incite his supporters, but he also, at the same time, wanted to incite the rest of us. He did and still does everything he can to cause anger and division. There are others who are at least as bad as him. They want this war. And they're just going to push us around on the playground enough times to get us to fight back.

It is the divide and conquer strategy.

list the states that outlawed abortions right after SC decision was announced - the so-called trigger states. She listed them in chronological order. I felt like I was listening to an announcement of states seceding or declaring war on the rest of the country.

Yes, we have our panties in a wad. But, I was traveling most of the week having meetings, lunches, and dinners, and I was in the office (~5000 emps) today. Not one word about Roe or any other politics. Granted, political conversations are ver boten nowadays else you get a visit from HR ( I've had 3).

I just don't think most people get worked up nowadays save for a few of us. Not a good thing, if you ask me. I so miss debate in the office.

where there was a coalition of states that formed a government and raised an army. I'd expect something more like the Troubles in Northern Ireland, with attacks directed mainly against organizations and government offices - and with a lot of ordinary people as collateral damage, going on for some 30 years.

is to have lived through the time when the people had more power and would demonstrate that power. Back in the '50's/'60's if the UAW or the Teamsters etc. were pushed hard enough you would see spontaneous walkouts across the country. It would escalate quickly and the affected bigwigs would realize that they needed to back off trying to screw with the people. Sometimes it did get ugly. Very ugly in the case of strikes by the United Mine Workers. However the example of nationwide work stoppage is an example for us currently. Beginning Monday women should initiate a work stoppage nationwide. The American economy will be put on the brink immediately since they are such a large part of the workforce. Shut. It. Down. Keep. It. Shut. Down. The bigwigs will face losing hundreds of billions within days. I realize that many women cannot take part because of dire personal economic reasons. But I guarantee you that there are enough women who can that could quickly bring major corporations to the brink.

Further very aggressive change in the behavior of women is now warranted since the SC has created this enormous danger to the life and health of women. Women must push for very harsh laws in the states for response and accountability for men who sexually assault/sexually coerce women/date rape etc. because the result can be life-threatening to the woman and can no longer be treated as lightly as it has been. The sentencing has too often been probation or minimal time. As an example their needs to be law in the states that would apply a charge of reckless endangerment in addition to the sexual assault charge. That additional charge must have severe mandatory minimum prison sentencing.

Women need to get very, very aggressive in their response to this patriarchal bullshit. The SC cons and the GQP do not care whether women live or die. They demonstrated that very clearly today. They do not care about the children. They have demonstrated that repeatedly every day for decades. For them it is about power and control. Show them who has the power.
