got abortion rights codified while he was in office, anticipating what happened today.

What "things" should have been taken care of BEFORE knowing what the parameters of the gun ruling would be? I will vote for Hochul this November despite the fact that she does not have the precognitive powers that you think she should have.

The sky is not falling. The ruling just removed absolute judicial discretion in the granting of permits -- "may issue" -- in favor of objective criteria that the applicant must meet -- "shall issue." The states can still determine those criteria.

Before this, it was just "You're not federally prohibited, and a judge thinks you're OK." To date, NY State doesn't even have a training requirement for a CCW, something that even Texas had until they went full wacko in 2021.
