People who the SCOTUS just pissed-off:
Women who believe in their own reproductive rights.
Women who believe in the reproductive rights of their daughters and granddaughters.
Women who believe in the reproductive rights of every woman.
Men who believe in the reproductive rights of their wives, their sisters, their daughters.
Men who believe in the reproductive rights of all women.
Men and women who will not stand idly by while their daughter is forced to carry her rapist's baby to term.
Men and women who will not stand idly by while their daughter is forced to carry a child conceived as a result of incest.
Couples who cannot afford to raise another child.
Husbands and/or wives who will have to give up their job and stay home because they can't afford daycare for another child.
Husbands and/or wives whose careers/education will be cut short due to the financial burden of raising an unplanned-for child.
Pissed-off people vote - and they all know that it was the Republican justices who just fucked with their lives, and have every intention of fucking with them further.
This is NOT going to end well for the GOP.

The terrorists who would suppress them have become emboldened, both nationally and internationally, from Idaho to Oslo.

(2,016 posts)There is not nearly the opposition to choice as the opposition we faced in 2020. Pro lifers are a 2 to 1 underdog if turn out is 20% higher than normal for a midterms. The lines will be shorter if thats a concern. I say lets make those lines longer and bipartisan. Encourage all to come to the line party. Bring 2 chairs, one for you and one for someone else. Pack a backpack full of water and snacks. Pass them around, theres no law yet you cant share water with your neighbor in line. Fucking dance in line. I stood in line for tickets to see The Who in 79 for 6 hours. Turn that line into a social 4th of July picnic style gathering sans any politics. And if someone gets political, as a group shut them up.
Sounds fanciful doesn't it. Sounds like a deal maker to me.

Believe me. This is far from over. We have just begun this battle against the puritans in our midst.

(51,584 posts)Gun control and pro-choice must be mentioned every day on the news and in the papers until we GOTV in Nov. The MSM needs to stop bitching about how inflation and gas prices are going to make the Dems lose in Nov and run stories about our lost rights instead.

(5,680 posts)And they are only speaking to their froth of the mouth base. What a majority of Americans believe means nothing.
The owners of the country don't care. They are getting what they want and their investments are paying off.
Ignorance is the natural state. Intelligence must be taught, which is why there has been an prolonged and effective assault on public education since 1983.

(11,563 posts)For some, they will be obstacles that they have to struggle to overcome in order to get on with their lives.
For some, it will be the single worst time in their lives.
For some, it will be the end of their lives.
This is...I don't know a single word that would sum it up, so I'll say "outrage." An outrage perpetrated by people that seem to want to live in a dystopia a la Margaret Atwood, or a Puritan nightmare like Nathaniel Hawthorne. Both cautionary tales set in New England, but too many people seem to have ignored the warnings.
Or, maybe the Barretts and Kavanaughs of the world just want people they don't approve of to live in one.
