That's why some folks say the solution for women since Roe has been overturned is to "close your legs." Not once do they advocate men getting vasectomies or keeping their peens in their pants.

And snot-nosed twerps like Kavanaugh will go around pressuring young women for sex even to the point of raping them.

(20,686 posts)THAT's the point. Religion has and always will be male aggression against women. Their insecurity about the fact that we can bring life into the world has always been something they need to control. And they just did.

(6,828 posts)Some women have clearly brought this on themselves, after all. I mean, statistically speaking, some Republicans were actually born to a woman. Conservatives seem to always be bringing up their mothers for something or another. That's proof in my book. It's women who are responsible for the proliferation of Republicans. With Roe, they had a choice, but, acting out their revenge on male aggression against women, they refused to use it.
I think that some women must have hated men forever. It's part of their charm, I suppose,.......... and perfectly understandable
Society is complicated.

(10,828 posts)of some jackass saying the only women hurt by this decision are the . . . whores.
Yes, that's right. A woman who becomes impregnated outside marriage is a whore. Of course, the comment fails on the basic, inconvenient fact that many women seeking an abortion are married and have children. Or that women consider themselves free agents, more than capable of making their own decisions about whether to continue a pregnancy. Or not.
This is misogyny writ large.
In this mindset, women are vessels, chattel, second-class citizens who need to recognize their place.
It's time to roar, Sisters. It's time for the fangs to come out.

(32,083 posts)A guy who writes for one of my favorite sports teams tweeted how afraid he was for his two young daughters. Some asshole, a male, of course, replied that if they're that worried, they shouldn't sleep around. Never mind that this guy's girls are both toddlers. And, no doubt it's okay for any sons to sleep around. This asshole would be sleeping around, too, but no sane woman would touch him with a ten foot pole. Been seeing others like him, too. All males, of course.
Yep, sex is now back to being a weapon of subjugation. It's about to be the same when it comes to contraceptives and same-sex marriage3 and relations. All one has to do is go back to the recordings of the late drug-addicted pus bag, Rush Limbaugh, accusing Sandra Fluk for being a "slut and sleeping around" because she was fighting to get her client's oral contraceptives--which she needed to treat fucking endometriosis, paid for. If you ain't a straight white guy, no sex for you unless you are married to one who wants to give it to you.

(33,643 posts)It's all about punishing women for having sex, totally agree on this premise.
In the case of most of the forced-birther males, I think it's because it's not sex with THEM. They're either getting none, or not the kind they want. So they lash out like children, looking for easy targets, and women who have (or would have) abortions fit the bill.
And IMHO, for many of the forced-birther females, it's because they prefer less competition, and many of them think that women who would be willing to have an abortion (and/or use birth control) ... appear more desirable to males. In essence, they see women willing to have an abortion or use contraceptives as sluts who'd take their man away, or will 'get the man' before they do.
