From some comments I read yesterday, I gather there may be more than a few married men not getting any sex for a while unless they get their little tubes tied.

I agree its a good strategy of married to a demanding sort of someone with gross politics but then Id argue maybe a woman in that situation should really reconsider what shes even getting out of that marriage.

(1,823 posts)I naively requested my OB tie my tubes after childbirth and he had to gently explain because my insurance company used the local Catholic hospital it wasnt possible. Not being Catholic I had no idea a hospital could even mandate such a thing!
I can imagine that nationwide, for both genders.

(8,367 posts)After our third child, actually when I was pregnant with her, we discussed sterilization with my OBGYN. He said, "Have your husband get a vasectomy. It's cheaper and way easier."
So he went in about a month after our daughter was born and did it. It was a great decision for us.
