Many people who are true Christians, in the full sense of the word, don't believe in abortion.
But that's not what this war is about. (Yeah, it's a war in which all of our freedoms are at stake.)
It's always been a wedge issue. It's one that Republicans have been using for perhaps 50 years. They've used it to gain the votes of true believers, who had no idea how they were being used.
So now, the Republican/Fascist Party has managed to steal the Supreme Court, and they've "won" their number one issue.
Of course, they will have another number one issue pretty quickly. But their "win" on abortion, may well lead to their destruction.
Any pro-choice person, Democrat or Republican, must go to the polls to demolish the GOP this November. If you don't know why, then I, nor anyone else, can explain it to you.
This Supreme Court is just getting started. Do you really want to let them destroy our Constitution, our country, our individuality, our rights, and all of our freedoms? This can be turned around by a congress that consists of people of conscience. Therefore, anyone who votes for any Republican, for any office, for any reason, is either incredibly stupid, or intentionally doing their best to fuck America.

(43,128 posts)But it can't entirely pick its issues, though it can be fed obviously from lower court cases and Congress if it goes Republican.
We must win November. Hang on to one chamber at least to support Joe.

(40,207 posts)Cases are getting fast tracked through the same dark money network that bought these Justices their seats on the court. Its a corrupt scheme. Like in a movie about the mob.

(7,597 posts)but that is the crutch that they use to fuck you. It is a convenient way to end a conversation because our society has beat in our heads that it is evil to question religion - so they walk smugly away.
I'm tired of the religious BS that has no basis except a "holier-than-thou" mindset. These are some nasty people. This is the 21st century. My question.....how much longer will people allow these troglodytes control our society?

(32,630 posts)I think that happened even before Ronald Reagan, am I right? I can remember Anita Bryant and others from the late 1970's getting all huffy about other people's offenses.
I mean drugs ... free sex ... welfare ... rock music ... homosexuality ... abortion ... these horrible behaviors just ticked them OFF! It wasn't the old-time Republicans, but it was definitely the Jerry Falwell-style religious right. And they were such a minority, most of us just laughed at them behind their backs.
