"When the penalty for aborting after rape is more severe than the penalty for rape, "

When the penalty for aborting after rape is more severe than the penalty for rape, that's when you know it's a war on women

on edit: also found this on his twitter thread

In 1975, women of Iceland went on strike for equal rights. 90% of women walked off their jobs & homes, shutting down the entire country. The men could barely cope. Five years later, Iceland elected first female President. Now Iceland has the highest gender equality in the world.

i don't know if this is accurate but it sounds like something that might be considered for here & now. (tho i suspect all those women celebrating the supreme court might try and step in to fill our shoes. maybe they'd make casseroles and have unprotected sex with the misogynists just to make them feel better/important)

Women living with dangerous men may not be able to participate.
They are in harm's way as it is.

Of course the US is not Iceland. I assume American men are way more violent and have more guns than the men in 1975 Iceland.

But why should women be second class citizens and still carry more than their fair share of the work load.

Let men figure it out. Maybe they will understand the value of women and decide we should have equal rights.
