Am I the only liberal person getting a little sick of Bill Maher?

I know this might ruffle a few feathers, but I'm getting a little sick of Bill Maher.

It's not like there's nothing to criticize about liberals these days; there's plenty.

But every time I watch one of his comedic editorials, he seems to blame so much on liberals. What about the other side?

And a some of the things are just flat out wrong or inaccurate. (No, Bill, China is not kicking the U.S.'s ass in anything).

Am I the only one who feels this way?

But sometimes I think he has good points about Democrats shooting ourselves in the foot.

But others things... seems like rushed and uninformed opinions.

Sure, Republicans suck but that's not news. I'm in it for the betterment of our Party and our Party maintaining power. I don't need to watch Bill Maher to know that Republicans are assholes and batshit crazy. I know Republicans are batshit crazy but as a Party, we have our deficiencies as well. Sometimes, it's the politicians and sometimes it's the voters. We should recognize our own weaknesses and fix them.

He's apart of the coalition. Yes, our politicians should be criticized where criticism is necessary because I want to win. We should all criticize our politicians when the moment calls for it but at the end of the day, also vote for them. Give them the opportunity to course-correct.

And i'd call him a left-libertarian, not a liberal.

He's always been kinda rotten to liberals even when he agreed with us.

Calling his show "politically incorrect" validated the b.s. right-wing co-option of that term. Originally it was an internal term for liberals, suggesting that if you're going to talk about liberal views, you should live a liberal life. E.g., down talk about the environment then go drive a hummer.

It was never meant to mean that driving a hummer was, in and if itself, politically incorrect. The term simply didn't apply to non-liberals, who in any case weren't being hypocrites about hummers and the environment.

But a few right-wingers decided to be personally offended by the term and get their martyr act on, and thanks then to bill Maher, their misuse of the term stuck.

So to this day people think liberals were being mean to conservatives, when they weren't even part of the original discussion.

being "politically incorrect". I like his show and don't watch it to get political talking points....I do end up yelling at him with his BS but he is entertaining.

I disagree with Biden on some issues but so what - the Democratic Party best represents my political ideology - not being in lockstep doesn't make me any less of a Dem.

Quit watching him 20+ years ago … was watching one night and sat stunned and appalled by his insensitive schtick ..
this must have been mid-late 90’s, on the day a young teen girl in my town committed suicide at school. She had brought a .22 handgun in her backpack to school . She sat behind my daughter in a morning class … around lunchtime, she went into a bathroom stall and killed herself .
I had to leave work to pick up my distraught daughter as school let out early due to this horrific situation .

That night, THAT NIGHT! Maher in his monologue spoke of the shooting as a joke, he said something to the effect of how bad it was getting in school that a middle school student had shot herself in a bathroom stall, and IF THAT WASNT BAD ENOUGH she had wounded a girl in the next stall giving herself an abortion …

I sat there stunned for several seconds, turned it off, and have never listened to that jackass asshole ever again … and cannot understand how members here tolerate his bullshit
Fuck him. 🤬

As if it's just baked in and we should accept that fact. It's obvious and that's just how it is. Then the blame goes to Democrats for not effectively responding to it. He focuses on the "woke" left and how that turns those Republican voters off, so it's the Democrat's fault.

We stopped watching Real Time a few years ago. Maher has become a caricature. He's also not that funny and since he's a hard-core "libertarian" his rants are not in line with my thinking and beliefs.
