My rights are

Not a bargaining chip. Something that can be bartered away in the name of compromise. Something to be placed on the backburner until some future time when it will be advantageous to you to finally support my rights - all the while you enjoy your rights in full citizenship.

Not a "wedge" issue to be used for political gain. To be treated as something to be used as a weapon or dismissed as a distraction from what is "really important" and what matters "most" to people.

Not "special interests", where my rights are dismissed as something in excess of the rights that actually matter, that are somehow not as important as the rights of others because my gender or skin hue or sexuality is not shared by those who see themselves as the rightful holders of inalienable rights. To be treated as if I am asking for something more by those who wish to deny me the same rights they have.
