So, how do we deal with the fact...

That one of the two major parties no longer seems to believe in the basic concept of a peaceful transfer of power or the rule of the governed? Repubs are seemingly not worried about the fact that their policies are wildly unpopular. They no longer think that fact matters. We should be worried about why,

They act as though they no longer need to worry about the voters. I keep wondering what they know that I don't.

They don’t have to care about what the people want. Thanks to the Senate, the EC and gerrymandering, they rule anyway. Also thanks to the filibuster, the ridiculous requirements to get a Constitutional amendment, lifetime appointments to SCOTUS.
I wish there was an answer.
