A nagging thing I'm thinking about the decision,

I’ll try to keep this short, hear me out please. I am pro choice, obviously. I’m also a “ math” kinda person. Here is what’s nagging me, in the math part of my old brain;
We start at almost 50-50, us and them.
My social media posts are starting to change a lil bit in the tone.
An American woman, I totally agree, is affected more than I. American women should be far angrier than me.
But the memes, posts and anger I’m seeing from my Democratic female friends, are starting to bring in “ men” as a general focal point.

This is what’s nagging me, given that. Remember 50-50? The Rs are brainwashed, not able to critically think, etc.
Hence they will always have their 50 or close.
They are dividing US!! To the point we may be 66-33 which gives them, 50-32-18 they still got their 50. Or they divide us in half and they get 50-25-25
As a male, Democrat “American “. I believe, 100% of Americans control their bodies. We are all Americans, that’s why we are pissed.


Don’t fall into their trap, because of justified emotions. Breathe, I believe in All of you. I feel you think the same.

TOGETHER we will all get through this. I believe in us.

but i have learned the hard way when to be a loudmouth, and when keep my mouth shut, when i'm trying to be an ally.
i learned this from being an lgbtq ally, despite being an old breeder.
it's about holding space for other's pain and anger. sometimes you just have to sit there, w your own anger, and other's anger. it's what many of us need to do right now. just sit in our anger and grief, until the war drums can be heard on the horizon.

i have 5 kids, only 1 of whom is directly affected here. but all 5 need me to affirm them in this fight.
i've lost count of my nieces and great nieces. but i stand for them also.
and if they are angry, which i assume they all are, i will sit with them until they are ready to act.

Mr Dixie is, obviously, pro-choice. Well-meaning in his anger, the day of the decision, he characterized it as "men vs. women". I pointed out to him that, no, it isn't. There are many, many, MANY pro-choice men out there - like him - who love women, believe in women and empower women. OTOH, there are many, many, MANY women out there who are anti-choice and believe all women should be subservient, second-class citizens. They cede their own bodily autonomy and are righteous in their aim to cede the bodily autonomy of ALL OTHER WOMEN. This is all about control. This is the last-gasp desperate attempt to maintain power by the ruling class. This is their death rattle.

I believe words matter. Wingnuts are experts at wielding words as weapons and sowing division. I believe we must stand together with our allies and protect each other. We have many battles ahead of us and they will be coming at us fast and furious. I'm not telling anyone else how to express their anger but I am trying very hard to choose my words carefully in conversation so as not to alienate. I am trying very hard to stay laser-focused on who the enemy is here. I think "fascist assholes" covers it nicely.

And the women who appease them. I am not angry at most Democratic men since most of them are as angry as I am. I figured since I do not have a dog in this fight any longer (and really haven't for a very long time), I am pretty much the same as they are - interested but not directly affected.

I don't even have very many young female relatives who will be affected, but I remember the choices I made as a young woman and want every woman to be able to make those choices for herself, not dictated to by dictatorial men.

As I said in another post, I hope I live long enough for things to go back the other way.
